- In 2008 Labour received 52.2% of their funding from Trades Unions (an awful lot of whom represent the public sector). This figure rose to 60.3% (£9,784,232) in 2009.
- Labour have spent the last 13 years creating thousands of unnecessary (and expensive) jobs in the public sector.
- Labour have been accusing Lord Ashcroft (who has donated a mere 1% of the total Conservative income) of having bought an undue influence on Conservative policy.

Draw your own conclusions? Bit of a no brainer that one! But try asking a member of the Labour Party for a straight answer on your point 1). Oh, and would you say points 1) and 2) could possibly be related. Discuss!
ReplyDeleteIt appears that Labour have got themselves caught in a bit of a vicious circle here. They need the unions' funding, so they create more public sector jobs to keep them happy, then the unions strike because they claim Labour won't pay them enough.
ReplyDeleteThe public sector may well turn out to be Cameron's version of Thatcher's unions.
